TNPL stops production due to water shortage

Chennai , April 5

TAMIL Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd has stopped production at its facility due to shortage of water, according to information provided by it to the stock exchange.

Production is expected to restart depending on water availability, it has said. According to sources the company was producing about 650 tonnes of a day. Its installed capacity is 2.3 lakh tonnes a year. Production had been stabilised after the upgrade of both the paper machines last year.
