Mixed trend in rubber

PHYSICAL rubber rates showed a mixed trend on Tuesday. The market appeared to be entering in to a holiday mood on account of Easter and Vishu.

Activity was low with all grades remaining steady except RSS 4 and ISNR 20, which lost.

Meanwhile, moderate rainfall has been reported from the plantation areas. According to sources, production might increase on favourable weather conditions during the second half of this month.

RSS 4 closed slightly down at Rs 57 a kg against Rs 57.25 on Monday. The TOCOM May features for RSS 3 was steady at 146.3 yen.

Rubber futures continued to rule weak on Tuesday. The April delivery was quoted at Rs 56.28 (56.82), May delivery at Rs 58.50 (58.81), June delivery at Rs 60.70 (60.99) and July delivery at Rs.61.05 (61.29) per kg for RSS 4. The volumes were low.
