Software Computer Sciences in expansion mode V. Rishi Kumar
Hyderabad , April 6 COMPUTER Sciences Corporation, the $13.8-billion software solutions provider, has projected an annual growth rate of about 70 per cent this year in India. It will also establish the Hyderabad centre, its fifth in the country and has plans for its sixth global delivery centre. The Director of Global Transformation Centre and Head of Hyderabad operations for CSC, Mr P.S. Karthikeyan, and Mr Manoj Tandon, Assistant Vice-President, told Business Line that "we are growing tremendously, and to handle this quantum leap, we are continuously expanding our top management team. CSC is starting a new centre in Hyderabad and is contemplating to commission a fourth centre in Noida, which will take CSC global centres to 6". CSC India, wholly owned by CSC, employs about 1,400 people, and continues to add people everyday. The Hyderabad facility, located in Hitec City, will be spread over an area of 1,50,000 sq. ft. "We will take possession of the facility in phases and in the first phase, about 60,000 sq. ft. will be operational by July. The full facility will house about 1,200 people", they explained. Specialising in the infrastructure management services space, CSC takes over the entire IT operations of the client. The services provided include traditional mainframe-centric solutions, distributed computing, data centre management, telecommunications management, and several other areas including security services. Increasingly, this would be one area to watch out, Mr Tandon said. "Our business process outsourcing (BPO) practice, which is largely in the financial services domain, will soon cover the other verticals such as telecom and banking. BPO is also our key service offering and this is certainly expected to grow rapidly over the years," Mr Karthikeyan said.
