ICICI Bank to support elementary education

MUMBAI: ICICI Bank is planning to disburse Rs 3.5 crore, along with Commonwealth Education Fund (CEF), to support elementary education in India.

"The treasury, Government of UK will match 85 per cent of this amount and has committed an amount of 1.7 million pounds towards the fund," said Dr Nachiket Mor, Executive Director, ICICI Bank.

The bank has disbursed Rs 400 crore towards micro-finance in the financial year ended 2003-04.
