FAPCCI meet on elections tomorrow

THE Andhra Pradesh Regional Branch of the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) and the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) are jointly organising a seminar on `Elections 2004 -Agenda for good governance' on April 10 at FAPCCI premises.

The objective is to educate citizens on the importance of good governance and the role of responsibility of citizens in the context of elections. The seminar will discuss the need for adoption of the Code of Conduct and adherence to the principle of good governance by all organs of State — the legislature, judiciary, executive and societal organisation such as political parties, corporate bodies, media and non-governmental organisations.

The Chairman of the IIPA, Regional Branch, Mr M. Gopalakrishna, will chair the meeting in which the Director, Bhamidi Fin. & Consultancy, Mr B.G. Sastry, will talk on the economic aspects of the agenda for good governance, and the Vice-Chairman of the Minority Commission, Prof. F.D. Vakil, will give the keynote address.

Other participants include Mr I Ramabrahman, Director, Academic Staff College, University of Hyderabad; Prof. P.L. Vishweshwar Rao and Prof. Gautam Pingle, according to an IIPA release.
