Private Banks No move to shift head office of Dhanalakshmi Bank: CEO Our Bureau
Kochi , April 11 THE Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Thrissur-based Dhanalakshmi Bank has said that the Bank had no plans to shift its registered office from Thrissur. In an official press release, which was issued on the day (Saturday) the officers had struck work, the MD and CEO had "assured once again that the Bank has no plans to shift its registered office from Thrissur". Besides, he had also reassured that "all earlier agreements with the staff union have been taken into consideration with regard to transfer of its employees". Meanwhile, officers of the Bank in the state struck work on April 10 to protest against the alleged transfer of its officers en masse for opposing the move by the bank management to shift the bank's head office outside Kerala. All India Bank Officers' Confederation (AIBOC) official said that it was planning an all-Kerala strike if the demands of the Dhanalakshmi Bank Officers' Organisation were not met by the management. The release also said that the bank had come out recently with a VRS scheme and out of 380 employees who were eligible for VRS, 87 had opted for it. The bank has also plans to recruit officers with specialisation to strengthen its growth plans. During the current financial year the Bank would open 10 more branches across the country. Besides, anywhere banking and more ATMs would be introduced very soon along with the introduction of core banking solutions, it said. A recent report of the State Level Banker's Committee revealed that the Dhanalakshmi Bank with over 119 branches in Kerala stood second among the Kerala based private sector banks in credit deposit ration, it claimed. The Bank had also extended a credit facility of around Rs 736 lakh through 986 Self Help Groups (SHGs). Another Rs192 lakh is also being disbursed very soon. Over 3,700 SHGs are maintaining accounts with the bank, which shows the bank's strength in the rural areas, the release added.
