Rubber Rubber rates recover on demand Our Correspondent
Kottayam , April 12 RUBBER rates recovered on Monday after witnessing loss on Saturday. Even though moderate rainfalls were reported from plantation areas there was no considerable improvement in production due to high temperature ruling during daytime. According to sources, market might become more active only after Vishu, which falls on Thursday. Meanwhile, latex closed at Rs 43 due to lack of its availability. RSS 4 closed at Rs 57 a kg against Saturday's Rs 56.75. RSS 3 at Bangkok was steady at Rs 58.83 and TOCOM May features for the same grade was better at 149.5 yen against Friday's 148.6 yen. The rubber futures also showed slight improvements on Monday. The April delivery was quoted at Rs 55.40 (Rs 55.33); May delivery at Rs 58.49 (Rs 58.30); June delivery at Rs 60.40 (Rs 60.29) and July delivery at Rs 61 (Rs 60.85) per kg for RSS 4. Monday spot market rates per kg were as follows: RSS 4 Rs 57 (Rs 56.75); RSS 5 Rs 56 (Rs 55.75), ungraded Rs 55 (Rs 54.75) ISNR 20 Rs 56.25 (Rs 56) and latex 60 per cent Rs 43 (Rs 42.50).
