NALSAR at 10th spot in moot court contest

Hyderabad , April 12

THE National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) University of Law, Hyderabad has secured the 10th rank in the Memorial (written submission) scores in the 2004 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition World Finals, organised by the International Law Students Association (ILSA), held in Washington between March 29 and April 5.

The NALSAR team had the highest scores amongst the four Indian teams that participated. Overall it was ranked 39th among the 94 teams from 81 countries, which took part in the competition.

The theme for the moot court competition was "The International Criminal Court", which was recently established.

The NALSAR team comprised of Ms Neela Badami, Mr Anup S.; Mr K. Parameshwar and Ms Malavika Raghavan, according to a press release.

The Jessup competition began in 1959 and involves law students from over 80 countries and 500 colleges. India last won the Jessup World Cup in 1999-2000.
