Outsourcing The Boston Group plans BPO foray, more centres V. Rishi Kumar
Hyderabad , April 12 THE Boston Group, an e-learning technology solutions provider, plans to enter business process outsourcing (BPO) and expand India operations by setting up more centres. The Chairman of The Boston Group, Mr Subu M. Kota, told Business Line, "Apart from the development centre at Hyderabad we plan to establish one more centre, recruit more techies by doubling the number here and are also exploring the possibility of new centres in the country." "We are a 350-people company spread across India, Singapore and Indonesia, and plan to grow the strength by inducting about 55 people in Hyderabad alone. Despite the issues relating to outsourcing, we expect the e-learning business to grow this year primarily from the Asia-Pacific region." "As part of further strengthening our operations, we are foraying into BPO space from a new centre. This centre is expected to be operational by the year-end focussing on e-learning projects and maintenance work," he said. "Apart from the Intralearn learning management solutions, we have partnered with State Governments for their e-governance solutions. Of particular focus has been the eGovernance project we have undertaken with the Andhra Pradesh Government to deploy a HRMS (Human Resource Management System). We have completed work in two departments and are set to expand to other departments as well." "This HRMS project serves as a referral project since it can be used in other States as well to handle HR-related management solutions," he said. "We are looking at the potential of tapping the banking and financial services sector with the Intralearn learning management solutions," he said.
