Restructuring the political system

The details of wealth declared by the politicians during filing of nominations clearly indicate that Indian politics is for the affluent.

Obviously, this country has moved far away from the Gandhian philosophy of simple living and high thinking.

The political system in the country can be reformed only by the emergence of national leaders and role models, who are willing to make sacrifices for the national cause.

For such persons, the target would not be the political power but a place in the minds of the people.

N. S. Venkataraman
