Jerry Rao is new Nasscom Chairman

THE MphasiS BFL Chairman and Chief executive Officer (CEO), Mr Jerry Rao, was on Wednesday appointed the Chairman of the National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) for 2004-05.

Mr S Ramadorai, Chief Executive Officer of TCS, has been appointed as the Vice-Chairman for the apex body of information technology companies in the country.

Speaking on his appointment, Mr Jerry Rao, said: "My endeavour will be to establish India as a high-quality, secure, reliable software powerhouse and centre for best practices in the BPO industry."

"We will continue to build on the global trade development programme and pro-actively engage with think tanks, policy makers and academics."

" During this year, Nasscom will also attempt to put in place a long term vision that would beyond revenue targets to focus on multiple parameters of industry's value proposition with measurable indices to define them," he said.
