New Delhi , April 14 BHARTI Infotel Ltd, which provides fixed line, long distance, data and corporate solutions, on Wednesday announced that it has deployed Internet Protocol-based MPLS backbone network solution from Cisco, which would allow it to offer new services and solutions. Bharti Infotel has deployed an IP-based Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) backbone solution, which helps in providing several revenue generating services such as bandwidth on demand, managed services and intelligent routing of voice, data and other traffic. In simple terms, the MPLS technology gears the IP backbone to support business applications by combining high-speed performance with security and scalability. MPLS-powered networks offer advantages like point-to-multipoint connectivity using one single link from customer premises to Bharti's network; multiple services delivered on the same link, and bandwidth on demand. "We have invested about Rs 15 crore on MPLS. We are offering these services to enterprises, banks and the tax Department," Mr Badri Agarwal, President of Bharti Infotel, told reporters here.
