Bangalore , April 14

VALTECH, a global IT consulting group based in France, on Wednesday announced the launch of its first offshore development facility in Bangalore.

The French company has been operating in India with local partners to deliver its advanced technology solutions to its global customers. It has, however, decided to have its own management team now. Until it moves into its own set-up by next year, it would be working with its partners. The full-fledged offshore development centre in Bangalore would have 100 people working now. The strength of the team would be scaled up to 800 by 2005, said Mr Jean Yves Hardy, CEO & Chairman, Valtech.

The $100-million company uses a unique software delivery process based on the agile and unified process (UP) methodologies, to provide flexible delivery solutions to its customers through various stages of the product cycle.

Mr Hardy said Valtech has appointed Mr Mohan Kumar as the Managing Director ofits Indian subsidiary. Mr Hardy said Valtech International follows collaborative practices of its DuoShore, which enables its onshore consultants (client location) and offshore (India) development teams to work together in close cooperation and to provide seamless global IT development and support and maintenance to clients in other parts of the world.

Bangalore centre would prove to be a strategic location for the company's growing operations and serve as a hub for its technology research and intelligence for its global operations, he said.
