Demand for jackfruit on the rise

The demand for jackfruit is on the rise outside the State. Angamali on the outskirts of Kochi is hub of jackfruit trade and truckloads of fruit are being sent to States such as Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh on daily basis. It is learnt that about 20 trucks leave Angamali on a single day. The peak season for this fruit is between October and May.
