Peer pressure on cos?

Our Bureaus

Chennai/Hyderabad , April 15

INFOSYS' competitors seem more worried about turning in similar performances than about having to reward their employees following the company's largesse to its own staff.

A Chennai-based company pooh-poohed suggestions of raised expectations of its employees following Infosys' announcements. But it said it was concerned about the 32 per cent revenue growth that Infosys had achieved. "It may set expectations high and may be a difficult goal to achieve for smaller companies."

Mr V. Krishnan, Director (Finance), VisualSoft Technologies, said, "Each company has its own approach to rewarding its stakeholders. This is clearly an individual reaction and approach. There is no pressure on us to emulate them."
