Chennai , April 15

SECURE Web Technologies has launched a burglar alarm that alerts owners of vehicles and houses within 10 seconds of an attempted theft.

The SecureMark Black Box II uses the biometric system, which senses human temperature, and alerts owners over mobile phone or a landline telephone, said the company's Chief Executive Officer, Mr R. Sundaravelu.

The firm, part of the Rs 50-crore Sterling Speciality Coating, hopes to sell the device to firms, banks, temples, jewellery shops and large houses. Depending upon a customer's requirement, the cost of the device ranges between Rs 10,000 and Rs 60,000, he told newspersons here today.
