Cement output, despatches up

CEMENT production in the country increased by 5.46 per cent during 2003-04 to 117.43 million tonnes (mt), against 111.35 mt recorded in the same period the previous year.

According to the provisional figures compiled by the Cement Manufacturers' Association, cement despatches during 2003-04 increased by 5.46 per cent at 117.13 mt (111.07 mt). Cement production in March 2004 stood at 11.28 mt (10.88 mt). Cement despatches in March 2004 stood at 11.30 mt (10.76 mt).
