New Delhi , April 16

WITH the summer holidays about to begin, both domestic and international airlines are going all out to woo passengers.

While Jet Airways announced on Friday that it would operate 11 flights in each direction between Delhi and Mumbai from April 17 to June 10 to meet the growing summer rush, Austrian Airlines plans to offer passengers flying on the Delhi-Vienna-Delhi sector a four-night free hotel stay package in Austria.

In a statement the private sector Indian carrier has said that the operation of the eleventh daily Boeing 737-700 flight in the morning on the Delhi-Mumbai-Delhi sector will offer the passenger a choice of three flights between Delhi and Mumbai within a period of one hour in each direction.

In addition, the airline is to operate an additional flight with a Boeing 737-700 aircraft on the Chennai-Port Blair-Chennai for a month, beginning May 1. The additional flight will leave Chennai at 10.25 a.m. and arrive in Port Blair at 12.35 p.m. In the return direction, the flight will leave Port Blair at 1.10 p.m. and arrive in Chennai at 3.10 p.m.

The airline has also announced the rescheduling of its flight 9W-831 on the Chennai-Delhi and 9W-212 operated on the Kolkata-Mumbai sectors from April 22. The Chennai-Delhi flight will now leave at 1.35 p.m. and arrive in the national Capital at 4.10 p.m.

Meanwhile, addressing a press conference, the Country Manager, Austrian Airlines, Mr Bernhard Baeck, said that the package, which will be on offer till July 31, would only be available for passengers flying on the Delhi-Vienna-Delhi route.

The city package includes free accommodation and breakfast for up to four nights in a four- or five-star hotel with meals at Indian restaurants and the sound of music tour in Salzburg. "We hope to see about 3,000 passengers availing of the package till the end of July," Mr Baeck said.
