Kerala bank officers drop strike plan

Our Bureau

Kochi , April 19

THE All-India Bank Officers Confederation has called off its proposed State-wide strike in Kerala on April 20 after an amicable settlement was reached between the Dhanalakshmi Bank Officers Organisation and the management.

At the meeting organised between the organisation and the bank management at Thrissur, it was decided that the retirement age of officers would be reverted to 60 years. The bank had earlier unilaterally reduced the retirement age of its officers from 60 to 58 years.

The management has agreed to reconsider the various transfers affected as a result of the strike called by the officers on April 10.
