Grasim's VSF plant resumes operations

Mumbai , April 19

GRASIM Industries Ltd informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that in view of the sudden release of water from the Tungabhadra River, by the Bhadra Dam Authorities, its viscose staple fibre (VSF) plant at Harihar restarted operations from April 17, 2004. The pulp plant at Harihar is expected to restart activities from April 21, 2004.

Based on the release of water, both plants are likely to run up to the end of April. The company adds that there could be more such interruptions in water supply till the onset of monsoon and could disrupt production.
