MeritTrac to offer offshore interviewing

Sankar Radhakrishnan

Thiruvananthapuram , April 20

THE next time a technology company in the US or Europe wants to recruit a `techie' it could look at outsourcing the entire technical interview process to a company in India. At least, that is what the promoters of the Bangalore-based MeritTrac Services Pvt Ltd believe.

The company, which currently provides competence assessment services, is looking at offering `offshore technology interviewing' services to clients in markets outside India. This service will make it possible for candidates in any part of the world to be assessed by interviewers based in India, says Mr Madan Padaki, Director, MeritTrac Services Pvt Ltd. Of course, the interviews will either be telephonic ones, or conducted using Web cams, he adds.

The company has already started doing telephonic technology interviews, especially for senior positions, for some of its clients in India, he says. Following a tie-up with Reliance Infocomm's Web stores, the company will soon be able to offer its clients the option of doing such interviews using videoconferencing, he adds.

This service is just one facet of the increased move towards recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) across the world, says Mr Padaki.
