HYDERABAD: Results of the general elections being held in the State and all India will be available through short messaging service (SMS), courtesy Idea Cellular Ltd, the leading cellular operator of Andhra Pradesh.

The telecom company has announced the launch of the new service called "Election Results Service on SMS', exclusively for the benefit of its post-paid and pre-paid subscribers, according to a press release.

Idea Cellular and Idea Chit-Chat subscribers can get election news, list of candidates of main political parties contesting constituency-wise and election results by typing simple keywords on the SMS.

The election results service would be made available live on the counting day. When a user enquires the election results through SMS, he will be serviced with the result of that constituency which will be updated every 20 minutes till all the results are announced.
