NDTV public offer oversubscribed 3 times

THE initial public offering (IPO) of the Prannoy Roy-promoted New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) was oversubscribed three times. The company is raising Rs 109 crore through the book-building route, by offering shares in the range of Rs 63-70 rupees each.

According to sources most of the bids were at the highest price. The offer received 53.2 million bids as against the offer of 17.3 million shares. The bids came mainly from domestic institutions and funds as foreign institutional investors are currently not permitted to pick up stake in television channels uplinking from India.
