MOBILE telephone service provider AirTel today announced a limited period offer for its customers to call the U.S., Europe and Canada at Rs 9.99 per minute during ``off-peak'' hours.

The low tariffs are available till the end of the current month and will translate into a 41 per cent discount. As per the existing tariffs, the Bharti Group-owned company was charging Rs 15.99 per minute for post-paid subscribers while pre-paid customers were paying Rs 16.99 per minute. The rates were the same throughout the day.

``We have launched the peak and off-peak package for a limited period as a promotional offer,'' a company spokesperson said. The off-peak hours would be from 11 p.m. to 7:59 a.m.

The new tariffs would be applicable for calls from mobile-to-mobile and mobile-to-fixed network in case of the U.S. and Canada, and mobile-to-fixed calls to Europe, he said.
