NTPC units' average PLF at 84.4 pc

FIVE power stations of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) are among the 10 best performing stations of the country as per the evaluation of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) for 2003-04.

The five power stations are Rihand (1000 MW), Singrauli (2000 MW), Ramagundam (2100 MW), Korba (2100 MW) and Simhadri (1000 MW).

According to an NTPC press release here on Monday, the average plant load factor (PLF) of its stations last fiscal stood at 84.4 per cent, while the power plants of the private sector, Central sector and the State electricity boards recorded a PLF of 80.4 per cent, 78.7 per cent and 68.4 per cent, respectively.

The Ramagundam Super Thermal Power Station has bagged the CEA Productivity Award gold medal for the seventh consecutive year by surpassing the targeted generation of 15,750 million units.
