Strategy Postal Dept to sell Arokya milk coupons in Chennai Our Bureau
Chennai , April 27 THE Department of Posts will sell Hatsun Agro Product's monthly milk coupons. The scheme was launched in Chennai today, under which the public can buy milk coupons from 44 post offices and have Arokya brand milk door delivered by the company. According to Hatsun Agro's Senior General Manager (sales and marketing), Mr S. Kannan, the tie up with the Retail Post Service of the Postal Department extends Hatsun's reach. The coupons will also be sold through the 850 dealers that Hatsun has across the city. A litre of Arokya costs Rs 15 when purchased with the coupon, about Re 1 a litre cheaper than buying it on a day-to-day basis. People can purchase a 30-day milk ticket book for Rs 225 and leave their name and address at the post office. The company will get in touch with the prospective consumer and commence door-delivery. The coupons will be on sale from the 25th of a month to the 12th of the next. Door delivery will commence from the 16th. The coupons are valid for 45 days and the consumers have the convenience of skipping purchases and resuming them within that period, he said. Mrs Sumathi Ravichandran, Director, Postal Services, said that the department makes about Rs 10 on every booklet sold.
