Kochi , April 27

BPL Mobile has launched Election News line and Election News Alert services to provide live updates of the ongoing Parliamentary elections.

News line provides round-the-clock election news updates in Malayalam, which can be accessed by dialling 747 from a BPL connection. Airtime charge of Rs 4 per minute will apply for this voice-based service.

Election News Alert service is an SMS-based service that gives updated election news between 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the election period.

Updated every two hours, this service can be subscribed for a fee of Rs 30. Both election services are available to all subscribers.

Mr R. Suresh Kumar, Deputy COO, Kerala said that subscribers can now choose between voice and SMS to get the election updates according to their comfort levels.

News line is a result of constant feedback from subscribers to initiate a voice-based news service in Malayalam, he added.

The content in Malayalam for News line is being provided by Radio Malayalam and is updated every three hours.

Subscribers can also listen to general and commercial news apart from the election updates.
