Telecommunications Nokia to set up CDMA research unit in Mumbai Our Bureau
Mumbai , April 28 NOKIA has announced it will start a CDMA research and development facility in Mumbai. "The establishment of such a facility in India testifies to our long-term commitment to this region," said Mr Soren Peterson, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of Nokia's CDMA business unit, at the Nokia technology summit on Wednesday. "Nokia views the Asia-Pacific region as an important one for its CDMA operations. The creation of a new R&D facility in India is part of the continuous expansion of its global efforts to grow and invest in the CDMA business in this part of the region," he said. The company also launched two CDMA20001x handsets targeted at "broader consumer markets" in the Asia-Pacific. It said that the Nokia 2112 and the Nokia 3125 models would be affordably priced, but did not give details.
