Not so sweet

A scene at the Gaddiannram fruit market in Hyderabad on Thursday. The market is dull with a significant fall in inflow of mangoes this year. The wholesale market has so far received around 2,800 lorry loads this month. The prices have also increased to Rs 16,000 per tonne this year from around Rs 14,000 last year due to supply shortage. According to market officials, the situation may not see any improvement, as there is already a huge loss of crop this year.
