IIITM-K course on Computers in Radiology

THE Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management-Kerala (IIITM-K) will be conducting a one-day course on "Computers in Radiology" (RAD - INFO2004) on May 9.

Announcing this, an IIITM-K spokesman said here that the course was aimed at bringing together radiologists and computer scientists/engineers to learn about advances in the field and enable them to exchange views on areas where there was a need for research. The session would provide an opportunity for computer scientists and radiologists to work together for better patient care.

The course would cover a range of topics including tele-radiology, PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications Systems), fMRI (functional MRI), DTI (Diffusion Tensor Imaging), neuro-psychology and functional imaging, image processing techniques in medicine, computer tomography, compression, streaming of medical images, computers in radiotherapy and computer operating systems. Registration for the course will begin at 8.30 a.m. on May 9; the registration fee has been fixed at Rs 100.
