Ashok Leyland okays notes issue

CHENNAI: Ashok Leyland Ltd has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that a committee of the board of directors has approved the issue and allotment of $100-million 0.50 per cent convertible notes due 2009 (convertible into equity shares of the company of Rs 10 each or global depository shares) to Citigroup Global Markets Inc and UBS Investment Bank.

The notes are listed on the London Stock Exchange.
