THE Union Government has nominated Mr S. Sathyamoorthy, Deputy Comptroller & Auditor General, to the disciplinary committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Informed sources said that the nomination had been done by the Centre in accordance with the provision of Section 17(3) of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949.

Mr Sathyamoorthy would be a member of the disciplinary committee for the term of the 19th Council of the institute.

In all, the disciplinary committee, which is a standing committee of the institute, comprises five members including the President and the Vice-President of ICAI. The other three members should be members of the Council who are to be elected by it.
