Politics Voters' list updated in Kerala Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The updated voters' list in the State has seen an addition of 67,391 names, an official announced here on Saturday. The last date for applying for inclusion in the revised list was April 16, the official quoted the Chief Electoral Officer, Mr P. J. Thomas, as saying. Unprecedented rush of aspirants was witnessed at all taluk headquarters, which were authorised to receive applications from the eligible. All such applications had been accepted and the names included. The voter's list as on April showed the total number of eligible persons in the State at 2,103,1943. As per the latest numbers, this now stood at 2,109,9334. Of this, 1,016, 2254 were male and 1,093,7080 female. The latter outnumbered the former by a margin of 7,74,826. Women voters outnumbered men in all Lok Sabha constituencies except Moovattupuzha.
