Phoenix Lamps pays 10 pc maiden

NEW DELHI: Phoenix Lamps Ltd has recommended its maiden dividend of 10 per cent for fiscal 2003-04.

The company's net profit has jumped by 24 per cent during the year, according to a company release.

Phoenix Lamps' sales increased by 14 per cent from Rs 145.9 crore in 2002-03 to Rs 165.9 crore in 2003-04. Profit before depreciation, interest and taxes (PBDIT) was Rs 34.6 crore compared to Rs 29.9 crore in 2002-03, an increase of 16 per cent.

Similarly profit before tax increase by 31 per cent to 13.3 crore in 2003-04 from Rs 10.1 crore. Profit after tax stood at Rs 9.3 crore against Rs 7.5 crore, a growth of 24 per cent.
