Breweries Radico Khaitan net rises 43 pc Our Bureau
NEW DELHI: Radico Khaitan, which announced its audited financial results for 2003-04 on Tuesday, has registered 43 per cent growth in profits. The company recorded profit of Rs 26 crore compared to Rs 18 crore for the same period last year. The board has proposed a dividend of 20 per cent. According to the company, increased focus on brands and services in new launches such as 8 PM Royale Whisky and 8 PM Bermuda Rum saw the turnover go up from Rs 618 crore to Rs 727 crore, clocking a growth of 18 per cent. The launches were aimed at broadbasing the product offering as well as increasing the market share. In total sales, 95 per cent is attributed to the branded segment and the rest to spirits. Mr Lalit Khaitan, Chairman & Managing Director, said: "We expect to see continued improvement in our margins and revenue growth as a result of newly launched brands revenues." Radico is looking at an investment of Rs 150 crore in the next three years for tie-ups and mergers and acquisitions.
Radico is also at looking at acquisition of brands, apart from bottling plants and distilleries. The annualised EPS stands at Rs 13.31 compared to Rs 10.85 for corresponding results last year, which is a growth of 27 per cent.
