Mumbai , May 5

MARICO Industries Ltd will focus on increasing the market size for branded coconut oil in a bid to grow its Parachute brand, Mr Harsh Mariwala, Chairman & Managing Director of the company, has said.

"We are looking at increasing the market size from the conversion of loose to pack,'' he said.

Marico, which launched Saffola Gold, a blend of ricebran oil and kardi oil, is not likely to invest behind its brand Sweekar. "In Sweekar, we are in competitive category, therefore we are not focussing too much on it,'' he said.

Saffola Gold's formulation has been researched in Japan. The blend of ricebran and kardi is in the ratio of 70:30.
