Kerala voters told to collect ID cards

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Chief Electoral Officer has asked those voters who had been photographed at the taluk offices to collect their voter identity cards from those offices at the earliest.

An official spokesman quoted the CEO as saying that the voters would need to produce these cards at the time of polling as the ID card number had been entered against their names in the voters' list. According to him, only those who had lost their cards or those who did not have cards would be allowed to use ration cards, driving licence or passport to establish their identity with the permission of the presiding officer.
