HENKEL SPIC India Ltd has relaunched its Rs 100-crore lead brand Henko Stain Champion and cut prices by about 15 per cent.

Mr A. Sathishkumar, Managing Director, Henkel SPIC India Ltd, said the price cut, ranging from 15 per cent for the 3-kg pack to 17 per cent for the 500-gm pack, has been carried out to attract more consumers.

The 3-kg pack costs Rs 225 from the earlier Rs 265; the 1-kg pack is available at Rs 75 as against the earlier Rs 90 and the price of the 500-gm pack has come down to Rs 38 from Rs 46. The sachet price remains the same at Rs 2.

The product has been relaunched in gusset packs to enable more visibility and is backed by a multimedia campaign. It would be endorsed by two film actresses, Urmila Matondkar in the Hindi belt and Laila in the four Southern States.

Mr Sathishkumar, quoting AC Nielsen market research figures, said Henkel reaches 3.5 lakh outlets across India. It has a market share of 9 per cent in the top-end of the premium segment.
