Bangalore , May 6 SUN Microsystems announced on Thursday that it was partnering with Paradox Studios, a Reliance Group company, to boost the market for gaming in the country and further propagate the adoption of J2ME among gaming developers. J2ME provides an application environment that specifically addresses the needs of commodities in the vast and rapidly growing consumer and embedded space, including mobile phones, pagers, personal digital assistants, set-top boxes, and vehicle telematics systems. This mutually beneficial tie-up will see Sun partnering with Paradox on technology innovations for the gaming industry and open up global markets for Paradox to further propagate J2ME-based games, said a Sun release. It will help Paradox leverage Sun's expertise to help deal with high performance and cross-platform requirements of today's fast-paced games. "There is great synergy in this partnership. It is bound to further boost the rapidly growing market for gaming in India. It is also further proof of the fact that J2ME is clearly the preferred platform for developers," said Mr Kapil Sood, Director (Telecom), Sun Microsystems India.
