Tagore birth anniversary fete

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: Marking the 143rd birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, the Bangiya Sanskritik Sangha is presenting a full-length dance ballet `Bhanu Singher Padabali', one of the earliest works of the Nobel laureate, on Saturday.

"For the time, the dance-ballet is being presented in Kuchipudi style," Ms Chandana Khan, State Principal Secretary (Tourism and Culture), told a press conference here on Friday. She said Tagore's work was inspired by Jayadev's Geet Govinda. "He used Mythili language, spoken in the eastern parts of Bihar," she said.
