Hyderabad , May 8 MEDICITI Hospitals, National Insurance Company and the Pune-based MD India Health Care have joined hands to offer an attractive health insurance package, which would also cover pre-existing illnesses with certain conditions. The premium for the Mediciti Health Plan is Rs 430 per annum per Rs 25,000 sum assured. The minimum and maximum sum assured under this plan is Rs 25,000 to Rs 2,00,000. It also offers a floater policy, which entails either one or all of the family members to utilise the insured sum for the treatment. The most important feature of the policy, as claimed by the Mediciti Hospitals, is the cover for declared pre-existing diseases. However, these pre-existing illnesses will not be covered for the first six months of becoming a member of the plan, Dr R. Vijai Kumar, Director of Medical Services, told newspersons. According to the Mediciti Hospital Director it would be a cashless policy, with policyholders just walking in and out with the treatment without making any payment up to the limit of their sum assured. The insurance plan covers everything except six ailments such as organ transplant, joint replacement, chronic renal failure, costs of pace maker, alcoholic sclerosis and HIV/AIDS.
