Land Customs service from Balmer Lawrie

Balmer Lawrie & Co, a state-owned logistics service provider, has expanded its Customs house agency activity to cover land Customs clearance and has opened a new office in Petrapole, a town on the Indian side close to the India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal.

Located about 80 km from Kolkata, the Petrapole office of Balmer Lawrie will cater to the logistics requirement of the imports and exports through the land route between India and Bangladesh.

It will facilitate the smooth movement of consignments of large business houses in Kolkata and other cities in addition to providing facilities for compliance with Customs formalities pertaining to the trade by the land route.

Established in 1857, Balmer Lawrie offers a wide variety of transport related services such as air import consolidation, air export, ocean freight services, Customs house agency activity, project transportation and warehousing.

It also runs container freight stations at Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.
