Diabetes on the rise in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The incidence of diabetes is rapidly increasing in Hyderabad.

Over 16.5 per cent of the adults in the city are diabetic, according to the Chennai-based M. V. Hospital for Diabetes and Diabetes Research Centre. The hospital has opened a diabetes clinic here on Sunday.

The M. V. Hospital Managing Director, Dr A. Ramachandran, told newspersons that studies carried out by the diabetes research centre have revealed that prevalence of diabetes in the urban areas of the country was very high.
