Mediciti to help accident victims

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , May 9

IN an interesting initiative to take care of trauma following accidents, Mediciti Hospitals has decided to adopt a 100 km stretch along the national highway from Shamshabad to Jadcherla to provide immediate medical aid to victims of road accidents.

The hospital, with a 200-bed facility in Shamirpet on the outskirts of the city, has lined up two mobile ambulance vans, tied up with local nursing homes and obtained a toll free number 1600 33 4056. These ambulances would be parked on the highway and ready for help.

Explaining the initiative, Dr R. Vijai Kumar, Director, Medical Services and Dr K. Krishnaiah, Director, Orthopaedics of the hospital, told newspersons that the service was being offered free. Once the victims were picked up after first aid by the Mediciti trained staff, the victim's family would be free to shift him/her to any other hospital of their choice.

The project is being taken up by the Mediciti Hospitals with the support of the Hyderabad police and the Andhra Pradesh Safety Authority.
