Indo-Count net profit up 400 per cent

Mumbai , May 10

THE net profit of Indo-Count Industries Ltd for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2004, shot up by 400 per cent to Rs 4.95 crore against Rs 99 lakh in the same period last year .Its turnover rose to Rs 32.95 crore from Rs 26.97 crore in the corresponding period in 2003.

The total income for the 18 months ended as of March 31, 2004 declined to Rs 161.08 crore compared to Rs 180.03 crore for the previous 18 month period ended September 31, 2002.However, the net profit in this period jumped to Rs 6.09 crore from Rs 14 lakh as of September 31,2002.

Mr Anil Jain, Chairman and Managing Director, Indo-Count Industries Ltd, stated in a press release: "The company installed imported and local machinery and commenced commercial production in four-and-half months."
