Warning from NORKA

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Department of Non-Resident Keralites Affairs (NORKA) has warned job seekers against recruitments being made for the Caspian Petroleum Project Company in Azerbaijan.

An official said here that a certain SN International, functioning from out of Karikkamuri in Kochi, had recruited some persons for the projects of what it had described as the Teheran-based company in Azerbaijan. The agency was reported to have collected huge fees in the process.

NORKA had received several complaints about visas being issued by the agency. It had made enquiries with the Indian Embassy in Azerbaijan on the basis of the complaints, and had found that the jobs offered and the visa did not conform to prescribed rules. It was in this context that the department had come out with the warning.
