Bangalore , May 11

THE sixth annualNational Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) Information Technology Enabled Services-Business Process Outsourcing (ITES-BPO) Strategy Summit is being held in Bangalore from June 9-10.

The focus this year will be on sustaining competitive advantage and best practices for the ITES-BPO industry. More than 500 delegates representing over 300 companies are expected to participate in the summit, said a Nasscom press release.

"The $3.5 billion Indian ITES-BPO industry is approaching maturity with both MNCs and local companies expanding the depth and breadth of their service offerings. For the first time, a summit in India will provide a platform for both third-party and captive vendors to understand and discuss key issues to sustain a competitive advantage," said Mr Kiran Karnik, President, Nasscom.

The summit has evolved over the years due to new opportunities and a rising competitive edge , the release said.

Roundtable discussions on human resource matters such as upgradation of the quality of the workforce and soft skills have been scheduled.

"The ITES-BPO companies recognise operational excellence arising out of adequate and skilled manpower. Nasscom is working towards enhancing the role of India as a secure and reliable source for the world's service needs," Mr Karnik added.
