Dr Reddy's files review petition on Norfloxacin

Hyderabad , May 11

DR Reddy's Laboratories Ltd has filed a review petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court requesting a re-look of the court order with respect to Norfloxacin, one of its leading earners.

The High Court had recently issued a common order dismissing two writ petitions filed by Dr Reddy's urging for the suspension of the price notification on the drug, pending disposal of the petition. While dismissing the writ petitions, the court had given the option to the company to file a review petition in the same court.

In 1995, the Government of India had notified Norfloxacin as a `specified product' and fixed the maximum selling price for it in India. In response, Dr Reddy's had filed two writ petitions with the AP High Court.

Dr Reddy's manufactures and markets Norfloxacin API and finished dosage under the brand name of Norilet in India and certain international markets, the company informed the stock exchanges on Tuesday.
