Common man strikes back

Nagamati, a farm labourer from S. Piramala village of Kurnool district, who ekes out a living in Hyderabad by selling plastic water pots, at the Cyber Gateway on Monday morning. Low rainfall and poor irrigation facilities, coupled with erratic power supply in the rural areas of the State, particularly in Telangana and Rayalaseema regions, have prompted an exodus from the rural areas to nearby cities. The landslide win for the Congress and its allies in the Assembly polls would not have been possible without the votes of such marginalised people.
