HPCL bidding for Kuwait Petroleum outlets in Thailand

HINDUSTAN Petroleum Corporation Ltd has said it is bidding for the retail outlets of Kuwait Petroleum in Thailand.

In a notice to the stock exchanges, the company said it has submitted a non-binding bid for the downstream marketing assets of Kuwait Petroleum International in Thailand. Kuwait Petroleum has around 100 retail outlets selling auto fuel and lubricants in Thailand. It also supplies aviation fuel at several airports in Thailand, said a HPCL official.

According to sources, some other Indian oil companies would also be bidding for the Kuwait Petroleum assets in Thailand.

Meanwhile, Mr S. Roy Choudhury has been appointed as Director (Marketing) of HPCL.
